How easy it for users to create and maintain Web content with Ektron?
Very easy. Ektron incorporates Ektron's XML editor to allow users to simply "drag and drop" content from Microsoft Word or other Microsoft Office applications. Navigation is intuitive for users and administrators in that the workarea is presented in a Windows Explorer-like interface. Adding content is as easy as opening the desired folder and clicking the "Add Content" button. In addition, your Web site can serve as the Ektron interface giving users a choice on how they wish to edit site content.
How are content changes tracked and workflow processed?
A complete document check-in / check-out process is incorporated in Ektron CMS. When a document is checked out by one user, it cannot be edited by another until it is checked back in. This prevents a user from overwriting another's changes. Once checked in, another user may continue the editing process (if needed). Users with editing permissions then "submit" the content for approval. During the approval process, users with approval responsibilities are notified by e-mail as well as within their personal workarea that content is awaiting their approval.
Does Ektron include search features?
Ektron offers a complete site search solution that is highly customizable. Users can create the search to perform full site searches or create search groups, limiting the content that is searched.
